As you might know, industrial music has been quoting movies since ever, mainly sci-fi/horror ones. So I picked some songs, in which you can listen to quotes from these movies written in parentheses. Actually, this is pretty interesting how industrial music has a tight relationship with science-fiction, mainly cyberpunk. Some nice paper about this subjet is
"Dead Space Surfing: Commonalities between Industrial Music and Cyberpunk Literature", by Karen Collins. She also composed in her PhD thesis, "The Future is Happening Already': Industrial Music, Dystopia, and the Aesthetic of the Machine" (2002), a table of samples used in industrial music:
* She used as reference "rec.music.industrial" (a fan-based Usenet newsgroup) database, which has been collecting sample sources for years. So this is more like an average.
So, here is the tracklist:
The Retrosic - Tears in Rain (Blade Runner, 1982)
Grendel - Chemicals + Circutry (A Scanner Darkly, 2006)
Wumpscut - Soylent Green (Soylent Green, 1973)
Neurotic Fish - Need (Ghost in the Shell, 2002)
Assemblage 23 - Anthem (The Lost World: Jurassic Park, 1997)
Velvet Acid Christ - The Dark Inside Me (Event Horizon, 1997)
Haujobb - Penetration (Neuromancer, 1984)
Blade Runner eu reconheci na hora! frase mais épica do universo!
